CoAspire, based in Fairfax Virginia and its in-house engineering team are performing on a fully-funded Precision Guided Munition Guidance project called the Guided Training Round. We are moving forward on the Hardware In the Loop (HWIL) and Software in the Loop (SIL) activity.  We have the responsibility to design, develop, and eventually manufacture a missile guidance system that operates real-time and closed-loop with the training munition’s hardware and software. The work is both challenging and exciting and our employees will be hands on, working with our team, the Department of the Navy and Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control engineers. 

Job Description 

This is a challenging position, and you must have the educational and professional experience in electrical hardware integration and test experience. The candidate must also be a self-starter. 

You will be responsible for the integration of real-time, closed-loop missile flight guidance systems. 

You will be expected to work in a very small team environment, on diverse projects and receive direction from the Chief Engineer and also be required to provide technical support throughout product lifecycle, from initial concept to acceptance delivery to maintenance and any future system modifications.

The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance after the start date is a requirement. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Master’s Degree (MS) preferred in Electrical Engineering 

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional engineering experience. 

  • Experience and knowledge of common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as RS-422, USB, PCIe, etc. 

  • Experience with and knowledge in the integration of computer hardware interfaces 

  • Experience working within a cross functional team 

  • Experience working independently with minimal direction 

  • Due to the nature of the business, remote work is not possible 

  • Very limited travel to customer sites may be required 

  • Proficiency in Linux or Unix 

  • Microsoft Office Knowledgeable 

Qualifications We Value 

  • Professional Electrical and Systems integration and test experience in a HWIL environment. 

  • Working knowledge in the integration of computer hardware interfaces 

  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management principles, environments and tools 

  • Working knowledge of GPS/INS Systems 

  • Working knowledge Mil-Std-1760 and Mil-Std-1553 communication and platform integration 

  • Working knowledge and experience with configuration management tools such as Synergy or Subversion 

  • Experience utilizing performance simulations, such as 6DOF or IFS 

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS), Master’s Degree (MS) preferred in Electrical Engineering or Systems/Aero/Mechanical with proven high academic performance.

This is a full-time position with full benefits. Salary will be based on the individuals experience and expertise. 

This position is located at 9401 Mathy Drive, Fairfax, Virginia 22031. Limited remote work is allowed. 

Clearance Information: This position requires the eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Secret Level security clearance.
